The food was good but not as it usually is the service was a bit lacking especially compared to the Dallas location and even other visits to this location. Fresh flour and corn tortillas, the beef fajitas were flavorful but the tablitas had an excessive amount of fat. The kid’s dish came out well before the rest of the meal which was unnecessary especially since it was so hot it needed to cool down before my 7 year old could enjoy it.

Been in Arlington for almost 23 yrs and I CAN’T BELIEVE NO ONE HAS TOLD ME ABOUT THIS PLACE!!! Best Mexican food!! You must try it!! BEST beef and chicken fajitas, rice, charro beans, salsa .... A I’ve become a regular. Oh, there’s mariachi and karaoke too on certain days. Owner is an Elvis fan so he has Elvis’ memorabilia in the entrance. Prices are reasonable and staff is AWESOME!! See you there!

El Ranchito Mexican Restaurant – A Cozy Spot for Traditional Mexican Fare We recently had the chance to try El Ranchito Mexican Restaurant on S. Cooper St., located in the former Buck n Loons building. This restaurant brings a refreshing, more authentic take on Mexican cuisine, making it a nice change of pace from the usual Tex-Mex options we often see in the area. While they do offer a few Tex-Mex dishes, the focus here is definitely on traditional Mexican fare. Our menu was in Spanish, but that didn’t pose any problems. Our server was friendly and went out of their way to make sure we felt comfortable, taking the time to ask about our preferences and making thoughtful recommendations. It added a personal touch to the experience, which we appreciated. The food itself was flavorful and well-prepared, highlighting the classic ingredients and techniques you would expect from traditional Mexican cooking. While it may not be what everyone is used to, for those looking to expand their palate or try something new, it’s a solid option. The portion sizes were just right, and we left feeling satisfied. The interior also deserves a mention – it has a charming, rustic vibe with lots of stonework and timber beams, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. It feels cozy, like a little cabin retreat, which made our dining experience that much more enjoyable. As for the prices, they seemed fair for the area and in line with what you’d expect from similar spots. We’re glad we gave it a try and look forward to returning to explore more of the menu in the future.

Omg! I wish this place was closer to my house. Loved the ambiance, service, food & drinks! The salsa had a nice kick but flavorful. It had chunks of onion and cilantro. They make the salsa fresh every morning and throw out whatever is left over at the end of the night. For dinner we ordered the Parrillada for two and substitute the chicken for more fajita. The fajita meat and shrimp had good flavor. To drink we had horchata. It had more of a cinnamon flavor, which was very good in my opinion, which I’m not a Horchata drinker. I ordered a Paloma and it tasted like just one that I would make it home. Yes they have squirt. For dessert we got flan. They put a raspberry syrup at the bottom which was very good and also a small thing of whip cream. Almost forgot to mention they have mariachis band. I would recommend this place and will be coming back again.

First time here, brought my parents for my mom’s birthday, the staff was so friendly and accommodating. The food was amazing and quick. My dad loves mariachi and we spent too much on mariachi songs but it was worth it!! Highly recommend!

If you follow my reviews, you know that I am fair and keep it to the facts of the visit. That said, some may get their feelings hurt here, but I'm not judging. This is our experience. My son, DIL, and I had dinner together before they returned home. I offered a couple of choices of places to go and they selected Mexican cuisine at El Ranchito in Arlington. We started the meal off with ordering the Choriqueso, as I had seen this on a previous visit and wanted to video it. The queso appetizer had a great smoky flavor and was a worthwhile presentation. We each ordered different meals which none of us ate the one we ordered. My DIL ordered the Guiso De Cabrito En Salsa, my son ordered the Tex-Mex Enchilada Dinner, and I ordered the Mar Y Tierra. I give credit to DIL for being adventurous and ordering essentially a baby goat which she found to be too spicy and didn't care for the flavor. I offered to trade but she declined. My son offered to trade her which she did accept but he didn't want the baby goat either and instead traded with me for my steak medallion and shrimp skewers. I ended up with the baby goat, baa. We all had a laugh and dug in. This is where the negative part of the review comes in. Once we started eating, our server completely forgot about us. Never checked on us and after finishing our meals, chatted while waiting for our check. After about 20-25 minutes, I go find a manager and ask for our check so I can pay and we leave. It was then that our server showed back up and asked "How was everything?" So I asked him why he never brought our check and he could only shrug and developed a language barrier at that point. I didn't let it sour our experience, but I let it be known. We had an overall good meal and a odd story to share. I believe it was an isolated incident and would absolutely return for some great authentic Mexican cuisine.
